2005 Chamber
Membership Drive

Thursday, March 31st

The Membership Drive was a success! In a matter of 5 hours, Chamber members rallied and brought in a whopping 54 new members!

Special incentives during the drive were a waiver of the $25 application fee and inclusion in the 2005-2006 Business & Community Directory (until April 7th) that reaches all 12,000 residences in Carol Stream.

Competition was fierce. Team Hodgdon (the Dominators) and Team Holmgren (The Incredibles) were neck and neck in scoring new members. There was evidence of sandbagging which always occurred at an opportune time. Committee Co-chairs Mike Ashby and Kent Dixon planned the event which was held in the Garden Room at the Holiday Inn/Carol Stream.

The final result of the magnificent effort was 54 new members - 26 from "The Dominators" and 23 from "The Incredibles" (and 5 from "Free Agents").

The Chamber would like to thank ALL those involved in the drive, both the new members for joining, the people behind the scenes and those volunteering day of the drive: Jim Hodgdon/The HBC Group, Mike Ashby/DuPage County Farm Bureau, Dick O'Gorman/Foxfire, Ian Anderson/REMAX AllPro, Patrick Bartel/Bartel's Auto Clinic, Mike Holmgren/Accounting Network, Inc., Christy Ruffino/My Designs, Nancy Morrow/AFLAC, Darrel Malcom/Brust Funeral Preplanning, Don Opperman/Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, Ken Hannah/West Suburban Bank, Andy Martello/Entertainer, Ann Kennedy/Carol Stream Public Library, Terri Butler/LaSalle Bank, Kent Dixon/Sunrise Chevrolet.

Chairman Mike Ashby gives Luanne Triolo the FIRST new member name.   Illini colors helped get into the competitive spirit of the drive as team captain Jim Hodgdon gets to work.

Mike Holmgren has success on his cell recruiting new members.   Christy Ruffino and Mike Ashby hard at work.

New member Nancy Morrow gets guidance from seasoned Chamber member and director Dick O'Gorman.   Mike Holmgren and Jim Hodgdon look compatible here but as team captains had a competitive spirit.

Ann Kennedy, Darrel Malcom, and Dick O'Gorman drum up membership as the numbers grow on the flipchart.   Mike Holmgren resorts to dunking Jim Hodgdon's selling tool - his cell phone - in a glass in an attempt to thwart his success in a friendly competition.

New Board director, Ken Hannah participates in a successful membership drive for the Carol Stream Chamber.
