It began with the children's events at 3:00 pm and the children came out in droves! Andy Martello entertained a large crowd for hours, Carol Stream Arts kept kids busy with block printing, Sparky the Fire Dog shook hands and McGruff the Crime Dog greeted visitors, Carol Stream Police handed out collector's cards, kids enjoyed hayrides around the pond, pitcher and barrel races were running non-stop, temporary tattoos were affixed. Fun was had by all!
In the evening, Chamber and Rotary members, village residents and their friends were treated to a delicious German meal prepared by Family Foods. Oompah music played and German dancers performed, joined by some of our very own amateur performers. Rotarians kept the beer flowing. Even though attendance was low, the people who attended seemed to enjoy this year's Oktoberfest! Wunderbar!!
