Sixth Annual "Pitch Your Business"
Carol Stream Chamber Luncheon
Wed., August 11th, 2010
Holiday Inn & Suites ~ Carol Stream

If you were at the August luncheon you were one of the 48 attendees who were informed and entertained at our 6th annual Pitch Your Business luncheon.  Once again, Carol Stream Chamber members stepped up to the plate, or, in this case, the pitching rubber and delivered amazing pitches about their business. This unique Luncheon took place August 11th on a hot summer day.

In the absence of a professional singer, the crowd joined together to sing the National Anthem and sounded like a 'chamber' choir! They were all quite good. (Note to self -fundraising idea: chamber holiday cds, concert tour)

The purpose of this baseball-themed luncheon was to do your best in 60 seconds to deliver the pitch about your company, perhaps making it impossible for anyone to forget you. Even with this extra time, some members just loved talking business a wee bit more. At that point, our 'umpire' Ann Kennedy would deliver a "yerrrr out!" as promised.

If you havent been to one, its always entertaining. Members waited their turn to pitch their business to all in the crowd. Of course, pitches can be a traditional elevator speech, ORmade MEMORABLE. I would say JR Miller from Divine Signs & Graphics was in the MEMORABLE category. He came up with an accordion, purchased the night before, and did a parody of Thats Amore and I Saw the Sign while playing this just-bought-18-hours-earlier accordion and the crowd voted him first place! Dick OGorman talked of Ivys Hawaiian night, while wearing an island-girl-themed apron (coconuts included). Gail McLaughlin of John & Tonys played an air guitar; Holiday Inn put on their version of Deal or No Deal complete with Howie Mandels hairline, thank you, Peter Pell. Rosanna DeFrenza of RoccoVinos composed a poem about a man named Roccowho doesnt make tacos. Many of these business professionals worked hard at getting the word out about their business. We thank ALL who participated in the event.

Chosen this month for Business of the Month: JR Miller/Divine Signs, Jacki Unger/Sign*A*Rama, Dick OGorman/Ivy, Nik Sankpal/U-STOR-IT. Congratulations to Wayne Erickson/Pure Water Technology for winning a free eBlast!
